Remote Accounting Specialist

Full job description

The Remote Accounting Specialist maintains accurate financial ledgers, supports the month-end close process, and coordinates with internal teams or clients using cloud-based communication tools. Key Responsibilities • Bookkeeping & Transactions: Record financial transactions, post journal entries, and manage daily accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR). • Reconciliations: Perform regular bank and general ledger account reconciliations, investigating and resolving discrepancies. • Financial Reporting: Assist in preparing monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements, balance sheets, and cash flow reports. • Tax & Audit Support: Gather documentation, prepare schedules, and assist with local, state, or federal tax filings and annual audits. • Compliance & Controls: Ensure adherence to Generally Accepted Accounting Principles (GAAP) and internal financial controls. • Remote Collaboration: Communicate with managers, vendors, or clients via video calls, email, and shared project-management tools.
